Launch Point: Moving Small Groups into Mission

Of the four Missional Engagement Series books, the largest orders have occurred with this one. Though I think each piece has equal merit for expanding influence, this vehicle has struck a chord with church leaders wanting their groups to lovingly bless and reach their neighborhoods.

Being relationally glued, almost every church has small groups. Being kingdom minded, each church wants to be more missional. Putting those ideas together, Launch Point makes a lot of sense! And because groups tend to get stagnant and ingrown, it creates a nice change of pace. Why not carve out nine-weeks in your church calendar to switch things up? Why not train your group members to engage effectively?

This material catalyzes mobilization. By teaching relationally angled, faith-sharing skills, it equips them as gospel bearers. Sampling, instead of trying to share the whole story, which can be awkward and “too much too soon,” group members learn how to provide a “glimpse” of faith’s benefits. These “windows” get the conversation started on natural footing. With relationship building placed first, faith formation occurs over time. Groups look for ways to bless their neighbors, while at the same time coming alongside to befriend, include and disciple. The impact can extend for years!

Finally, do not underestimate what happens when believers get “on mission” together.  Consider the early church dynamic, where the mission urgency took the sweetness of fellowship off the charts! This same experience awaits Christians who link arms for God’s cause. And who knows what our great God will do, when we step out for him? (Amazon, or my website).
