2013 ended in a good but surprising way. When I came back from my missions trip, I turned in manuscripts for a four-book series, thinking that it would be likely another six months before hearing back from my publisher (That is a typical waiting time for reaching what publishers call: “The cue.”).
But a month later, I got proofs! All four of these smaller books had been typeset, ready for me to finalize. That email-moment changed everything, immersing me into the very detailed finalization timetable. As a result, I submerged. I could do little else, stopping all social media, and all social connecting—for that matter. Sorry for dropping out of sight; it just seemed to suck the extra from me.
The books are now released. I feel great about the final products—they look fantastic! Reflecting, God has his hand over the minutest details of our lives, and knows our schedules, and what we can handle and when we can handle it. I surmise that God fully knew the storm arising at Sandals (a new three-staged discipleship path, which I am over), and moved these books to completion before those “gusters” blow!
I am slowly getting back in form with life, and now ready to post a few blogs. It felt good writing this one. I will be sharing about the new resources, my inspiration, and the design for each. And share my thoughts on other mission matters as well. Thanks for hanging in there with me, when I needed to survive something. Your grace is wonderfully appreciated!
This is great! Good job.
Thanks Gary! I will send you copies soon. It all started in your program, with your encouragement and belief!
