Paul and the Gospel: There are so many things to learn from God’s chosen “instrument” to the Gentiles (Acts 9:15). What a calling! When God looked down from heaven, it might seem like he chose the wrong guy. Yet we know in God’s infinite wisdom, this was no mistake. God saw in Paul many things that qualified him for this unique assignment. In a series of posts, I will share my thoughts with a few principles attached.
First, like an Old Testament prophet bearing God’s message in a visceral way, Paul’s life pictured the gospel of grace. By his often used tag: “The worst of sinners,” Paul’s murderous history demonstrated the bottomlessness of God’s grace to bring hope to any person he ran into. What a message! Never forget the power of your story, and don’t be afraid to be a grace picture for God. Though it requires humility and courage to share what God has done for you, or is doing in you now, the lesson of our lives bears fruit.
As much as God chose him for his religious upbringing, roots in Roman culture and great spiritual ambition, ironically, it was first Paul’s darkness that created the backdrop for God’s light. May we be transparent enough to embrace his example.#gospel #redemption #soulwhisperer
