Driving down the road at sunset – a reflection on divine guidance.

Seven Yellow Lights and the Voice of God: When Divine Guidance Gets Personal

Have you ever felt like God was speaking to you in the most unexpected way? I experienced something unforgettable that had me thinking deeply about divine guidance—and it all started on Murrieta Hot Springs Road.

I had just left a Church Planters forum, where a man shared a powerful message about how God leads our lives. He outlined three key ways the Lord speaks to us:

  1. Where He drags us kicking and screaming,
  2. Through our desires, and
  3. Through a revelation.

These words hit me hard because I could relate to every one of those. As I drove, I talked to myself (as usual), trying to process it all. That’s when something strange started happening.

Divine Guidance Confirmed at Seven Yellow Lights

As I went through intersection after intersection, I began noticing a strange pattern. I had just passed through four consecutive yellow lights. That alone was worth a tweet! Then came a fifth yellow light. Then six. Then—believe it or not—a seventh yellow light.

Now, I’m not into numerology, and I don’t look for hidden meanings in numbers. Frankly, I find that a little out there. But I couldn’t help but recall that seven is the number often associated with God in the Bible.

I’m not trying to make a big spiritual claim here. But it was one of those moments that simply felt like God was smiling at me and saying, “I’m here.” Whether it was coincidence or something more, it only reinforced what I had just heard about God’s leading.

Real-Life Confirmation: A Couple Called to Israel

Later that night, I met with a couple who recently felt led to become missionaries in Israel. The woman described a sudden and overwhelming change of heart. She said she would come home and just cry. That’s when I shared the three signs of divine leading.

To my surprise, she said, “I have experienced all three.”

It gave me chills.

How Has God Led You?

So here’s my question for you: Have you experienced divine guidance in your life?
Has the Lord ever drawn you into His will through surprising, stretching, or unmistakable ways?

Sometimes, His signs are dramatic. Sometimes, subtle. But if we’re paying attention, we just might see the yellow lights lining the road.
